Getting Started

This can be done either by phone or email. The scope of the project, materials, and schedule are discussed. A rough estimate can usually be provided at this point.

Initial Consultation

Design Meeting

If the schedule and rough estimate are acceptable, we can arrange an onsite meeting. I’ll explain the design process, and show examples from completed projects. At this point I’ll collect a $1000.00 retainer to start the drawings. The retainer will be applied to the cost of the project, or to the cost of the renderings, which are available for 20% of the overall estimate.

This is the most important part of the project. We narrow down the design options and refine the visual and structural details of the piece. This may require numerous revisions, but is necessary to create something you will be delighted with for years to come.

Design Review

Proposal

A detailed contract is presented with a firm estimate. Final design drawings are shown, and final details are determined. Once approved, we’re ready to start fabrication!

Execution

Upon receiving a deposit, work begins. Progress photos are provided, and communication is encouraged. When the project is ready for finishing, you are invited to the shop to see it in person. After the final finish has been applied, installation or delivery is scheduled.

Payment Schedule

I request a 40% deposit at the signing of the contract. A 50% progress payment is due when the project is ready for finishing. A 10% final payment is due upon completion of installation, and total satisfaction of the client.
